Pandora's Box does have activation cost, tapping it. Can a player wait for the dice result to resolve but respond to the rest of the roll-based effect? I'm pretty sure you can, this would make possible to prevent damage if you are going to take damage while rolling for a pill (as someone suggested), and even more important, dice-roll-result-based triggered effects trigger after the dice roll resolves. I do have a question here although I think I know the answer.
The top of the stack is the dice result and after it the rest of Pandora's effect.
Note that you are still far from that as after the death penalty resolves you land at the start of the end of turn and if there were end-of-turn triggered effects they would trigger and would resolve before Pandora's box effect. Pandora's box has started to resolve already, has been destroyed previously and it is not in play anymore, however its effect hasn't fully resolved yet and it will eventually kill Hush. I'm going to assume this is the scenario and also that Pandora's Box was A's only non-eternal item. A's death penalty resolves, loses 1c, discards a loot card, destroys 1 treasure, ends the turn.A's death resolves, death penalty goes onto the stack.A dies, their death goes onto the stack.B plays in response to the dice result using Johnny's knifes, targeting player A.This is very interesting because at this point Pandora's box has started to resolve but hasn't fully resolved as it hasn't done an effect yet (killing a monster in this case due to the 3). The dice result (3) goes onto the stack.Pandora's box resolves, destroying itself and rolling a dice which turns to be a 3.A taps Pandora's box to use it's ability.After reading the post I thought player A was right, after reading B's reponse (which has been tough because of the manners I'm not so sure.
